ABOUT NH HOOP SKILLS CAMP

NH Hoop Skills Basketball Camp will follow CDC and SNHU COVID-19 guidelines.  

Our camp provides fun-filled instruction and emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball. Beginning players will receive instruction in the basic fundamentals, rules and sportsmanship. The more experienced players will be challenged in skill development and competitive opportunities.

Coach Pinkos
A New Hampshire native and 19th year SNHU women's basketball head coach, Pinkos brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to NH Hoop Skills.

 

Coach Pinkos has over 30 years of camp experience as a player, camp counselor, assistant director, and current 18th year director at NH Hoop Skills.

 

Her 16 years as a division I assistant coach and eighteen years as a head coach provides this camp with great leadership.

 

NH Hoop Skills has tripled in numbers over the past 18 years! We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share our expertise while developing the future basketball talent in the NH area.

  • What does a typical camp day consist of?
    A typical NH Hoop Skills Camp Day looks like this: 9:00 am - Attendance, warmup 10:00 am - Skill stations 10:45 am - Break 11:00 am - 5 v 5 games 12:00 pm - Lunch 12:30 pm - Sorry, no pool this year! 1:00 pm - Lecture 1:30 pm - Daily contest (3v3, free-throw, 1v1, etc.) 2:00 pm - Daily activity 2:15 pm - 5v5 games 2:45 pm - Camp wrap-up 3:00 pm - Camp adjourns
  • When can I make my final payment?
    If you have already paid your deposit, your final balance will be payable at registration. Cash, checks, and bank checks are all accepted at this time. You can also pay online on the Register page. Please contact me if you would like to use Venmo.
  • Can I register the day of camp?
    Although we strongly recommend campers to be registered and signed up before the start of camp, campers are able to register on the day of. Registration begins at 8:30 am in the lobby of the Sports Center on the first day of camp.
  • Are there any special drop-off/pick-up instructions?
    Camp will begin promptly at 9:00 am every morning, and will end at 3:00 pm every evening. Campers can be dropped off as early as 8:30 am, and can be picked up until 3:15 pm. NH Hoop Skills LLC is not responsible for supervision of any camper other than hours listed.
  • Who are the best contacts in case of an emergency?
    In case of an emergency, please contact: Karen Pinkos, Head Women's Basketball Coach SNHU 603-645-9662 The New England Sports Center number is 603-537-9663 for urgent calls.
  • What type of gear/equipment should I come prepared with?
    Campers should wear athletic socks, cool and comfortable clothing, and preferably basketball sneakers. Running sneakers are not recommended due to the likelihood of ankle injuries. A water bottle labeled with the campers name is also recommended. ​ We do have optional theme days to add a little camp fun! We will post on Facebook for Tuesday, Weds and Thursday. The camp store will also be opened and available at various times throughout the day. The store consists of water, Powerade, and snacks. Campers must bring extra money in order to make purchases from the store.
  • Will lunch be provided?
    No! Lunch is NOT provided, however, you will have an opportunity to purchase lunch at the SNHU cafeteria. I believe they offer some lunch specials. Sodexo is not a part of NH HOOPSKILLS and we do not benefit from the sale of any goods. TY
  • Will any basketball be played outdoors?
    Yes, each group can expect to be outside for a minimum of 90 mins per day. Groups will go on a rotation schedule by groups. If weather is not good, we will move indoors with a rainy day schedule.
